About Prague Airport

The airport was built to replace Kbely Airport and was first opened in 1937. The airport was renamed ‘Vaclav Havel Airport’ in 2012 after Vaclav Havel, the man who was the first president of the Czech Republic and also the last president of Czechoslovakia. It is located about seven miles from the city center of Prague, making it easy to get to and from the area.
