Store your luggage around San Teodoro with Bounce

Sardinia is one of those places most international travelers never get to. It’s even a part of the country that most Italians will never reach. But for adventurous souls looking to reach every corner of the globe (or Italy), Sardinia offers one of the most beguiling and beautiful places you can visit.

There are plenty of historic and remote towns with fascinating history, underrated cuisine, and culture. One of the best towns in Sardinia to plan a weekend trip is the fishing village of San Teodoro. Nestled on the northeast corner of Sardinia, San Teodoro is surrounded by the craggy coastline and crystal-clear Tyrrhenian Sea.

There’s plenty to do in this tiny village, so here’s a quick guide on how to spend a few days in San Teodoro:

Luggage storage in San Teodoro

Between the outdoor activities and logistics between neighboring towns up and down the Sardinian coastline, you’ll be on the move for most of your trip to Sardinia. And when you’re not on the move? You’ll be relaxing on one of the town’s stellar beaches, like the famous La Cinta beach, hopefully with a spritz and some sunblock. Having your luggage with you will only get in the way of your enjoyment, and small towns like San Teodoro don’t always have a left luggage service or train station lockers to rely on. One thing that San Teodoro and other towns do have is luggage storage services like Bounce.

Bounce makes it easy to find and book reliable luggage storage with our intuitive app, and it comes with plenty of guarantees and assurances that make it more trustworthy than other options. Our 24/7 support and friendly staff mean your experience will be pleasant and simple, providing excellent luggage storage. San Teodoro is waiting to be explored, and we are the best option for San Teodoro luggage storage you’ll find.

San Teodoro city guide

Top things to do in San Teodoro

There’s plenty of outdoor adventure to be had, with amazing soft sandy beaches like La Cinta and Cala Brandinchi. There’s also hiking and horseback riding in Tavolara Marine Reserve and the hilly terrain further inland. There are also numerous archaeological sites and historical landmarks to explore that tell the tale of one of Italy’s most remote and distinctive regions. Basically, your friends and family won't want to spend any time in their rooms.

In town, there are rich cultural offerings and quaint scenery to explore. Of course, there are lively piazzas, cobbled streets, and an entirely picturesque setting for your romantic Italian getaway. Being an island in the Mediterranean, it should surprise no one that there is world-class seafood to be enjoyed at one of San Teodoro’s many amazing trattorias. These cobbled streets are lined with plenty of quaint shops and boutiques for grabbing crafts and keepsakes that are unique to Sardinia.

Here are a few of the best places for where to start your San Teodoro adventure:

Museums in San Teodoro

Nuraghe San Pietro

Nuraghe are the megalithic remains of the Nuragic civilization that existed in Sardinia during the Bronze Age. These stone structures dot the landscape of the island and are known for their distinctive appearance, which is entirely unique to Sardinia.

Nuraghe San Pietro is one of the most famous and well-preserved examples on the island, and it’s situated about an hour outside of San Teodoro. It’s a particularly large Nuraghe, with several structures constituting a village-like arrangement. There’s a central tower, an outer complex, and smaller structures that are fascinating to tour. You can visit on your own or take guided tours that operate out of San Teodoro.

Nuraghe San Pietro Bag Policy

Nuraghe San Pietro is about an hour’s drive from San Teodoro, so you won’t want to bring the luggage if you don’t have to. If you can stop at a San Teodoro luggage storage location on your way, that would be helpful. Use our app or website to check availability and drop your bags if you can't check in to your hotel.

Nuraghe San Teodoro

Another Nuraghe, this much smaller structure, is located just outside the San Teodoro city center and can be toured within an hour. It’s estimated to be about 3,000 years old and offers a glimpse of how the Nuragic people lived in prehistoric San Teodoro. It’s modest when compared to some of the more notable Nuraghe, but it’s very convenient to see in an afternoon.

Nuraghe San Teodoro Bag Policy

Being an archaeological site, there’s no bag policy in place at Nuraghe San Teodoro, but it’s situated near the San Teodoro city center, so it’s easy to drop the bags off. Bounce luggage storage facility on your way.

Castello di Pedres

Located just a short drive up the coast from San Teodoro in the town of Budoni, this well-preserved medieval castle is a gorgeous example of the fortifications that lined the coast of Sardinia in centuries past. You can't tour the interior, but the castle grounds offer stellar views of the stone fortifications and the surrounding countryside.

Castello di Pedres Bag Policy

The castle interior is not open to the public, so you won’t have to worry about a bag policy. Still, touring the castle grounds with your luggage would be a hassle, so dropping the bags off with Bounce could prove useful! Luggage storage is available for a small fee, so drop off your bags before exploring the property.

Most attractions in Sardinia cities like San Teodoro are historical landmarks (or even archeological sites) as opposed to proper museums. As such, there won’t be luggage storage lockers or other amenities, which makes services like Bounce all the more useful!

Shopping in San Teodoro

San Teodoro Town Center

San Teodoro is a tiny fishing village, so don’t expect the same shopping opportunities as you’ll find in mainland Italy. Still, San Teodoro’s city center has some stores that are fun to explore. Via Sardegna and Via Del Tirreno are your best streets for local shops selling ceramics, coral jewelry, handwoven textiles, and other traditional products. There aren’t many fashion boutiques or designer stores, but you’ll find some clothing and beachwear stores for practical purchases, and often at reasonable prices.

Cocleria Market

During the summer months, San Teodoro hosts evening markets where local artisans and businesses operate stalls along Via Sardegna, selling anything and everything. There are also street performers and music, making it a lively affair. Even better, restaurants and bars stay open later to accommodate the crowds.

Olbia

While it’s certainly no metropolis, Olbia does offer expanded shopping options compared to San Teodoro. Olbia is located just up the coast from San Teodoro and makes for a great day trip if you want to see more of Sardinia. Corso Umberto is a bustling street where you’ll find the best window shopping. The Auchan Olbia shopping center should be your first port of call for finding familiar fashion brands and designer clothing. For a local farmers market, the Mercato Civico is a solid option for produce and artisanal goods.

Bounce has luggage storage locations near the best retail districts and shopping destinations, so you won’t have the annoying task of lugging your bags around while you shop!

Restaurants in San Teodoro

Gusto by Sadler

Most restaurants in Sardinia lean towards traditional and historic flavors and concepts, but the upscale Baglioni Resort’s restaurant Gusto presents an imaginative and modern menu of Mediterranean cuisine. You’ll find everything from hyper-conceptual “edible art arrangements'' to simple dishes inspired by classic Sardinian dishes. Expect a lot of seafood, but especially look out for their crudo di mare.

Il Portolano

For a traditional taste of Sardinia, head to this quaint little seafood restaurant in the heart of San Teodoro. The decor is simple, even cozy, and the family-run restaurant prepares superb seafood that was pulled from the sea that morning. The views are incredible, as the restaurant’s terrace faces the sea and nearby Tavolara Island. You’ll certainly need a reservation to snag that table!

Agriturismo Muru Idda

Located further inland in nearby San Lorenzo, this Muru Idda is one of the best examples of agriturismi (agritourism farms) in Sardinia. These producers offer their farm-fresh products like olive oil, wine, cheeses, and honey. Most importantly, you can sample and consume these culinary delights onsite, so you can savor these Sardinian flavors and bring a taste of the island back home (well worth having to check a bag on the flight home). Favorites at Muru Idda are the ravioli filled with stewed Arbus lamb, ricotta, and mint. If you’re truly lucky, you’ll visit when they’ve prepared a suckling pig.

Conclusion

The Sardinian coast is one of the most remote corners of Italy to explore, and only the most dedicated and adventurous travelers ever reach this fascinating part of the world. You won’t find as much travel advice as you would for Rome or Venice, so doing your homework can go a long way toward making your trip special. That’s why Bounce has put together useful travel guides for nearby towns like Cagliari, Lipari, and Taormina, where they also have luggage storage locations like San Teodoro. If you’re going on a Sardinian adventure, there’s only one luggage storage service you can trust!
