The Geneva Train Station sees many travelers pass through its doors, with rail travel being a popular transport option to get to the city. Previously known as Geneva Cornavin Railway Station, the train station is central to Geneva’s public transport system and is located in the Cornavin region, right in the city center. The station offers over 400 train services each day for both domestic and international services, with two of the platforms even offering border control for Switzerland and France. The train station was renovated in 2014 and is now a central transport hub for the city. In addition to extensive train services, it offers easy connections to buses and trams with stops located just outside the building. The redevelopment of the site also enhanced the facilities of the train station, transforming it into a retail center with all of the amenities needed to make passengers feel comfortable. Today, it is home to a range of eateries, clothing stores, a pharmacy, multiple supermarkets and even a police station.
